002. How to Make Tree Bark Effect Fabric

On today's live stream over on Twitch Creative, I finished making some 12 month subscriber rewards for Alicat Fiber Arts and Psychomatis.

Each mug rug is made using fabric chosen by the subscriber - I love that each one is unique to each individual!

If you'd like to make your own hexie mug rug, you can get the free pattern from my Payhip Store

I made a highlight video from one of my earlier streams too which shows how I make my mug rugs too!

After the break, we then looked at different fabric manipulation techniques.

In an earlier stream, I mentioned that I wanted to make a Magic Faraway Tree quilt and whilst I am still working on my final sketch/ pattern my brain has started to wander off and think about the different elements of the quilt

I am not an "Art Quilter" nor do I consider myself very artistic, but I really want to push myself out of my comfort zone to try new things and maybe even drop the feed dogs on my machine one day!!!! LOL

Here are the results of my tree bark experiment - along with an important PSA about drying hosiery in the microwave!

Sound confusing????

Check out the highlight below and all will become clear!

That's it for this post,

If you'd like to keep more up to date with my live quilting shenanigans, be sure to head on over to Twitch and follow my channel!

Until next time,

Happy Stitching xx
