001. What is a Twitch Creative Broadcaster?
If you take a look at my About Me page, you'll see that amongst being a wife, stay at home mum and obsessive quilter, I'm also proud to say that I am a Twitch Creative Broadcaster in the Makers and Crafting community.
What on Earth is a Twitch Creative Broadcaster, you might say? Sounds kinda fancy doesn't it?
Let's take a look at it in a bit more detail shall we?
Instead, I am talking about live streaming using the Twitch.tv live streaming platform.
Over the past few years, Live streaming has become more and more accessible to the masses through channels like Facebook Live and Instagram and the Twitch.tv platform is another means by which you can "Go Live" and share live experiences with your followers, friends and family.
The Twitch.tv live streaming platform is operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon.com and primarily focuses on video game live streaming but tucked away in a small, but growing corner is the wonderful world of Twitch Creative...
You can watch any Twitch stream for free and you can interact LIVE with via the Chat window. (If you want to be able to use the Chat window, you'll need to set up an account first)
After you have your account all set up, You can ask me any questions you like about the process, the materials I'm using, the technique etc. You can also interact with other viewers via the chat window too...
The sense of community is very strong on Twitch, it's my favourite thing about streaming - I've made friends with viewers from all over the world and we've arranged meet ups at quilt shows and one viewer from Belgium even came to stay at my home!

WTF is Twitch?
When I talk about Twitch and Twitching, I'm not referring to the past time of Bird-watching, nor am I referring to the involuntary eye or body movements you experience when someone refers to your quilted creation as a blanket!Instead, I am talking about live streaming using the Twitch.tv live streaming platform.

So what is Twitch Creative?
Twitch Creative is a community of all different kinds of artists and creatives: painters, chain mail artists, leather workers, musicians, digital artists, photographers, knitters, crocheters, sewists and quilters to name but a few
They are doing what they love, right now, LIVE on the internet and sharing the experience and process with you!
You can watch any Twitch stream for free and you can interact LIVE with via the Chat window. (If you want to be able to use the Chat window, you'll need to set up an account first)
| Creating an account is really straightforward, you can even connect with Facebook |

It's worked wonders for my mental health too. I am an introvert by nature and in recent years I have been suffering with anxiety so the thought of joining a local quilt group or attending a quilting class just gives me the heebie jeebies! But Twitch Creative has opened up the whole world for me!
Think of it like meeting up with friends for coffee at your favourite spot; great music, great atmosphere and conversation but you don't have to leave the house! You don't even have to get dressed - you can watch in your pyjamas if you like! (I won't know unless to tell me - nudge, nudge, wink wink LOL)
The really nice thing about Twitch is that you often bump into people you know in other streams and it really helps to foster the sense of community and friendship that I've come to cherish.
I'll be posting more about Twitch Creative in the coming months, but for now....
I'd like to invite you to become a part of our amazing community too!
